Liverpool’s Royal Court has unveiled its new extended foyer, first-floor terrace, circle bar and new box office as the second phase of its refurbishment is completed.
Mayor Joe Anderson and AHMM Architect Paul Monaghan helped Chief Executive Gillian Miller cut the ribbon and officially open the new foyer.
After revamping the auditorium in 2012 to install better seats, bar facilities and disabled access, the £3 million second phase began in January 2015, with performances continuing as normal throughout the building works.
Other improvements to the theatre include a lift providing the entire building with disabled access.
She continued: “The new frontage provides a positive impression for both local people and visitors to the city, and the new facilities inside will make every trip to the Royal Court a memorable one.”
