International Dance Day seeks to promote the art of dance around the world.  This special day is all about the history of dance and the recognition of its place in society.  This year, working with Calypso music and dance, MDI and Liverpool BID Company will use the theme of Liverpool’s 50 Summers of Love programme and celebrate the work of Lord Woodbine. He was a Trinidadian Calypsonian and music promoter, regarded by some as the musical mentor of The Beatles, and has been called the “sixth Beatle”.
