The school summer holidays are finally upon us – six long weeks to entertain your little landlubbers. But if your young ones are feeling all at sea, St George’s Hall is launching the ideal solution this weekend to keep cabin fever at bay…

This Saturday, St Georges Hall is preparing to set sail on an adventure that will keep the children ship-shape with… The New Adventures of Captain Pool and his Mersey Mariners!

St George’s Hall welcomes you to come on board and meet the friendly Captain Pool and his Mersey Mariners, Harry, Joe, Bosun Bell, and Shanty Sam who are about to set sail on another adventure on the high seas from 23rd July to August 29th.

But before they can set sail, they will need more ship mates on board. With his new ship mates aboard, the little greenhorns will have to learn the ropes, literally!

This fun-packed and activity filled event promises to make ship-shape sailors of those who are a little green around the gills!

Heading out of the port of Liverpool, Captain Pool will meet pirates who want to steal his ship and look for the legendary treasure hidden in a faraway land. But help his at hand in the shape of the mythical mermaid who will help Captain Pool and his Mersey Mariners get their ship back from the evil pirates and find the treasure!

Once they have taken the ship back from the pirates, they must navigate their way back to Liverpool, back to safety. But danger lurks around every corner and Captain Pool will need the help of the bravest greenhorns to get his ship back to Liverpool!

The nautical adventure has been accredited by The Children’s University as an official learning destination. As well as being part of Captain Pool’s adventure, little greenhorns will learn about life aboard a ship, discover how navigation and tides are important to any journey, work together to overcome the evil pirates and much more…

The New Adventures of Captain Pool and his Mersey Mariners is presented by Lovehistory Events UK Ltd with director Judy McLean at the helm.

Judy explained:This maritime themed adventure will take place throughout the summer holidays and each week we will introduce new exciting adventures, craft activities, songs and games, making this a real sailors’ summer at St Georges Hall! Each new sailor will receive a special certificate from the marvelous Captain himself!

St George’s Hall Manager, Alan Smith added: “Make the most of the summer shore leave and bring your little greenhorns over to St George’s Hall for a nautical adventure they’ll never forget. As well as having lots of fun, the event will give your first mates the ideal opportunity to learn lots of maritime skills with all hands on deck!”
